Let me take you down, so you can show me What it’s all about, and how it should be Come out and stay for a few days Putting wood on the fire, you take it easy with me Now we’re doing ok, say it ain’t so I wouldn’t want it any other way, I never wanna go So kick of your shoes and then show me What you can do before the light fades away We could be in a dream or a movie Just wait and see it could get groovy tonight You can do anything you put your mind to Get out of the city chase, wait ’til it moves you Now we’re doing ok, say it ain’t so Wouldn’t want it any other way, I never wanna go We’re making a fire to keep a memory We’re making a fire to keep a memory, alive..

Could have been lost on my own Might have been needing someone too What it would mean to go on If I could move with someone like you Someone like you..

I’ve been thinking for some time that Maybe I should get away To a place that nobody knows of Somewhere I’ve been losing feeling But I’m not afraid to try If there’s a feeling inside I’d like to say that it’s ok now but it would be so contrived If I were to lie to myself again He keeps moving, she’s not listening I’m a little out of reach In a corner of your mind asleep

Angels Fly 03:28
I saw angels fly as I hit the ground Lord I just survived and woke to your sound The sound of life Wouldn’t I belong They’re gonna bring you home It wouldn’t be too long You’ll see it everywhere Coming out for air So keep it in your eyes

Before I get to get older Just a little on the side I feel a hand upon my shoulder Telling me to keep on trying It’s not a question of endurance Or a means to defy What we know to be certain Just a small piece of mind

about

Recorded in the last few weeks at my Tuinhuis in Rotterdam (a large shed with a garden). I was desperate to do something creative during these lockdown times and squeezed everything I could into the tiny windows of silence without our children nearby - shoutout to all parents right now. We have no electricity there so I brought with me a fully charged laptop each visit and recorded what I could, sometimes by candle light: using 1 mic to record my voice and guitar at the same time (and the birds singing outside). I only used what was around me, a bit of bass and shaker on 1 track, and occasionally my daughter’s mini piano. I had planned to name this EP after an old song of mine ‘A Little Out of Reach’ to represent the current times but it ended up feeling more positive than I expected so I took the title from the first track which was written about my experience of reconnecting with nature and my family since finding this place. Hope you find something too in this EP, and watch out for the album coming soon!
