Pictures - a distant memory catches up on him, a traumatic event. The song distils the memory and brings it to the present, but also warns not to hang around too long.
lyrics
Pictures on the wall
Telling me how fast it goes
I won’t forget to keep
Memories new and old
It comes in slow motion
When you least expect
Like a cold running river
That beats across the chest
Someone came today
Suddenly from far away
Knowing who it was
It could be, I couldn't say
It comes in slow motion
When you least expect
Like a cold running river
That beats across the chest
You might recover the meaning
But not the imagery
The whole glass is shattered
And yet plain to see
Someone came today
Kicking up the stones
Careful what you say
Anywhere you go
(I couldn’t be there if you wanted
I wouldn’t last another round
It’s just another lost illusion
That’ll bring us falling to the ground)

Gorgeous minimalist arrangements and one of the most beautiful and moving voices I've ever heard. Lady Blackbird brings a Monk-like ability to get right into your guts and start rooting around. brussb
I normally only listen to electronic music, but after listening to this album months ago I found it kept calling out to me. Now after purchasing it I can see why. I am totally addicted to its beauty and harmony. Thank you so much for the wax version, as it is the only form of music I collect. kaosskid
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell

Lalin St Juste’s atmospheric R&B songs are as gentle as a spring breeze and as mysterious as a far-off galaxy—engrossing and bewitching. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 15, 2021
